Meet The Veterinarians
Education: UC Davis
Dr. Dennis Voorheis received his undergraduate degree in Zoology
from Cal Poly Pomona and received his veterinary degree from
University of California at Davis. Dr. Voorheis has a special interest in Oncology, Surgery and Canine Physical Rehabilitation and has recently received his CCRT from the Canine Rehabilitation Institute which
makes him a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist.
He has been a veterinarian at Washington Boulevard Animal Hospital since 1983 (however worked at WBAH as an assistant while attending Cal Poly prior to that!)
Dr. Voorheis has 4 dogs and 2 cats. In his free time he enjoys backpacking, hiking, cycling and baseball.
Education: Ohio State
Dr. Dominic To was born in Hong Kong, China and raised in California. He received his BS degree from UCLA in Molecular Cell Development Biology as well as a Masters in Education. He worked as a high school science teacher before he went on to become a veterinarian. He attended Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. To has a special interest in Surgery and has been with Washington Blvd Animal Hospital since 2009.
Dr. To has 2 cats of his own; Iodine and Copper.
Dr. Daniella De La Cal
Dr. De La Cal is a local Whittier girl. She graduated from Cal High and did her undergraduate work at Cal Poly Pomona, where she received a BS in Animal Science in 2007? She obtained her DVM from Western University’s School of Veterinary medicine in 2011? Dr. De La Cal, became a fixture at WBAH much earlier than that, though. She began following Dr. Voorheis, to get an idea of what a veterinarian did when she was just 15 years old. Later, she worked for us as a receptionist, a animal assistant and a technician while she was working her way through veterinary school. She joined our practice in 2010? Outside of work, she and her husband love music, travel, hockey and baseball. She has two cats that seem to find themselves in no end of mischief.
Dr. Sara Husain
Dr. Husain has been a veterinarian at WBAH for 15 years. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from UCI in 1999 and is a 2003 graduate of Ross University. Her patient care and compassion are a staple at the hospital. Dr. Husain sees dogs, cats, and all manner of “pocket pets” from rabbits to hamsters and guinea pigs. Dr. Husain and her husband reside in the Pasadena area with their daughter and 2 cats. They enjoy, travel, the arts. Dr. Husain enjoys all things Yankee baseball! It it the pinstripes?
Dr. Michael Ishida
Dr. Michael Ishida has been an associate veterinarian at Washington Blvd Animal since he received his DVM from UC Davis in 2017. He first started working as an assistant at Washington Blvd while obtaining his Bachelor of Science at California State University, Fullerton. Since that time, Dr. Ishida has known he wanted to work with animals and is excited to be back as a veterinarian. He grew with many different pets and is currently a proud cat dad to 3 adult rescues as well as a varying number of foster kittens. In his free time, Dr. Ishida enjoys animal photography, traveling, working out, and undoing his workout with good food.
Dr. Judy I
Dr. Judy joined WBAH in 2016. She had practiced in La Verne, Ca prior to that. She received a BS in Biology from UCLA in 2008. She obtained her DVM from the Massey University in New Zealand in 2013. She and her husband (also a veterinarian) live in Diamond Bar. She has two cats, and a two year old daughter (almost 3). Her interests are firmly in general practice, has both an interest in surgery and medicine. Off time, is spent with her daughter, family and maybe getting a little rest from chasing a toddler around!
Dr. Andrea Belluz
Dr. Belluz was born and raised in Southern California. She completed her undergraduate work at Loyola Marymount University in 2009, where she earned her bachelor’s in Biology and minored in Business Administration. She was also part of the LMU Women’s Rowing Team. She then pursued her dreams and obtained her veterinary degree from Ross University and Louisiana State University in 2013. She has been practicing for 7 years. Her areas of interest include surgery, dermatology, emergency medicine and oncology. She and her boyfriend reside in Long Beach, along with their two very spoiled dogs, Bourbon and Riblet. On her free time, she enjoys the beach, spin classes, cooking, and traveling.
Dr. Stephanie Chang
Dr. Chang is a 2016 graduate of Western University School of Veterinary Medicine. She then completed a rotating surgical and medicine internship at the prestigious Animal Medical Center in New York City, followed by two surgical internships; one in Houston and one in Ohio. She joined WBAH in May of 2019. She is enjoying general practice and has strong interests in surgery as well as medicine. In her off time, she enjoys Disneyland and her cats.
Dr. Ee Len Lo
Dr. Lo is a 2019 graduate of the University of Melbourne (Australia). While undergoing the rigors of veterinary medical school, she held and maintained a job as a surgical nurse (on the human side of things). She did an externship with WBAH in the summer of 2018 and we reached out and hired her as she graduated in 2019. She moved a long way to get to Whittier – more than 6000 miles. She has a dog named Max and has enjoyed adjusting to life driving on the right hand side of the road.
Dr. Alice Song
Dr Song is a 2019 graduate of the Western University School of Veterinary Medicine. She was raised in Kansas City, Kansas. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine; was trained as a human acupuncturist prior to veterinary medical school. She has 4 cats….
Dr. Chloe Raftery
Dr. Raftery is a 2019 veterinary graduate of Western University of Health Sciences. Prior to obtaining her DVM, she achieved her BA in psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
Before vet school she worked at a small animal general practice for 4 years as well as volunteered at a zoo in the bay area where she grew up. She is a native of San Francisco and started her work in the animal field in high school where she volunteered at the San Francisco Zoo and SPCA. In addition to her love of all cats and dogs she has a strong interest in exotic medicine and looks forward to treating the many small mammals that come through Wbah. Her professional interests include internal medicine, oncology and preventative medicine.
In her free time she enjoys spending time with her dog and cat, Willow and Oz, reading, traveling, and doing yoga.
Dr. Evelyn Bobbitt
Dr. Evelyn Bobbitt is a Southern California native born and raised in Colton, California. She earned her Pre-Med Biology degree from the University of La Verne and received her veterinary degree from Western University of Health Sciences. Dr. Bobbitt’s passion to study and care for animals has inspired her to travel as far as Nicaragua and Zimbabwe.
Dr. Bobbitt spent many hours in her childhood rescuing and caring for animals that came into her life. She volunteered with animal rescue organizations and created her own neighborhood pet-sitting business. Today, she spends her free time hiking, traveling with friends, and practicing the art of mindfulness.
She loves her sweet husky-mix Jett of 13 years.
Dr. Christine Bobula
Dr. Christine Bobula is born and raised in Northern California in a small town named Gilroy. She grew up in the country side with dogs, cats, rabbits, goats, chickens and ducks as pets. She went to UC Berkeley for her Bachelor’s degree where she first began working in the veterinary field doing wildlife rehabilitation and working at an emergency veterinary clinic. She attended Western University of Health Sciences where she obtained her veterinary degree. When she is not at work, she enjoys yoga, paddle boarding, skiing, and hiking in her free time with her Dalmatian mix, Roo.
